Built from a real need. Designed for everyday life.
Adult Learning Tools was designed, developed and built in response to a gap experienced by people working in the industry: a lack of practical tools that could realistically simulate everyday life and help adults learn by doing.
Why we built ALT
People working in the industry struggled to find tools and platforms that could effectively demonstrate how to complete forms, create and use email accounts, or apply for and open bank accounts. Teaching these tasks through real services could involve personal information, live accounts and privacy concerns.
They needed a way to give learners meaningful, realistic experience while respecting privacy and GDPR responsibilities. Reading instructions or watching a demonstration could only go so far. Learners also needed opportunities to try things for themselves, make decisions and understand what happens next.
That is why we built the Life Skills Simulator: a fully enclosed platform where learners can experience everyday situations, practise life skills and build confidence before applying those skills in the real world.
A space to learn by doing
The simulator brings familiar services and everyday decisions into an enclosed learning environment. Learners can practise, repeat tasks and develop their understanding without the real financial consequences of using live services.
Privacy considered from the start
ALT was created to address the privacy challenges of teaching through real accounts and services. Its simulated activities are designed to reduce the need to use live accounts or sensitive personal information in practice exercises, helping tutors focus on the skills being taught.

Our purpose is to help adults move from understanding a task to feeling confident enough to do it. ALT brings structured learning, realistic simulation and practical document handling together.
